models like deepseek v2 rely on trust_remote_code: true which is notoriously hard to monkey patch to work with sample packing. This is a workaround that writes to the modeling code file to import our patch. It should be backwards compatible, so doesn't break when not using packing.
@tmm1 says he'll look into seeing if he can figure out why the original monkey patching doesn't stick
